Obverse description Radiate head of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Edessan coinage, with rays of the radiate crown clearly visible rising from the diadem. The portrait is set within the coin field without a border, and the Greek legend is distributed around the effigy. The flan is irregular, characteristic of hammered provincial bronzes of the early third century AD.

Reverse description Turreted and draped bust of Tyche, the tutelary goddess of Edessa, facing left, wearing a mural crown surmounted by battlements symbolising the city walls. The bust is draped and presented in the local Mesopotamian artistic tradition, set within the field with the Greek civic legend distributed around the periphery. The reverse type reflects the standard iconographic formula employed by Edessa to affirm civic identity on its provincial bronze coinage.
