| Reverse description | Central type depicting a large crescent, horns upward, within which appears a small head or bust facing right — a characteristic Carrhae civic type referencing the moon-god Sin, principal deity of the city. The crescent occupies the majority of the central field and is enclosed within a circular border. A Greek civic legend surrounds the type in the outer field, though partially worn and uncertain in places. The overall composition reflects the deeply rooted Mesopotamian religious iconography that persisted on Carrhae's civic coinage through the Roman imperial period. |
