| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla (or possibly Elagabalus) facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath atop curled hair, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and segmented cuirass at the truncation. A faint circular Greek legend runs along the periphery, partially legible due to die wear and the irregular flan. The portrait exhibits the bold, slightly crude modelling typical of eastern provincial workshops of the Severan period. |
