Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Caracalla facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian mint output. A wreath appears in the right field adjacent to the imperial effigy. The encircling Latin legend M AVR ANTONINVS P F AVG identifies the emperor by his official titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, with a green patina visible across the surface. The portrait, though worn, retains the characteristic broad facial features associated with Caracalla's provincial coinage.
