Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in archaic Greek style with bearded features. A monogram appears in the left field, accompanied by the inscription ΙΘΑΚ identifying the issuing city of Ithaca. The portrait is boldly struck with coarse but characterful die work typical of provincial Achaean bronzes of the late Republican period.
