Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the restrained Hellenistic portrait style typical of early Augustan provincial coinage. The emperor's features are idealised, with short, neatly arranged hair. The Greek legend ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ runs in the field to the left and right of the portrait. The whole is set within a dotted border.
