Acrasus was a minor Lydian city whose civic coinage under Septimius Severus represents one of the more obscure corners of provincial bronze production. The conventus of Pergamum administered a vast swath of western Asia Minor, and smaller poleis like Acrasus issued coins largely to facilitate local transactions and assert civic identity — the imperial government had little direct interest in their output. Very few specimens from this city are recorded, and the reference number suggests a catalogued rarity rather than a commonly traded type.
