| Obverse description | Bare or laureate head of Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Bostra mint. The emperor's effigy displays the characteristic beard and mature features associated with his later portraiture. The surrounding legend reads M ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, disposed around the field. The flan is irregularly struck, as is typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. |
