Reverse description The sacred Buchis bull (Boukhis) standing right, depicted in profile with characteristic robust body and short tail. Above and around the figure appear the Greek nome inscription and regnal year notation. The Buchis bull was a sacred animal associated with the Hermonthite nome in Upper Egypt, venerated as a manifestation of the war god Montu, and its appearance on this provincial issue reflects strong local religious traditions. The field is rough and the design is somewhat worn, consistent with the small hammered flan.
