Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with slight drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style. The portrait displays the characteristic short curled beard and laurel wreath associated with Hadrianic coinage from Egypt. The effigy is set within a circular border on the flan, with the field exhibiting the green patina typical of Roman provincial bronze issues. The coin's irregular flan is consistent with the hand-struck character of Alexandrian nome coinage of the early second century AD.
