| Obverse description | Radiate head of Emperor Domitian facing right, the spiky radiate crown clearly rendered despite the coin's worn and encrusted surfaces. The imperial effigy is depicted in profile in the provincial Greek style typical of Boeotian civic bronzes. A partial Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading ΑΥ ΔΟ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕ ΓΕΡ, abbreviated titles identifying the emperor as Augustus, Caesar, and Germanicus. |
