Obverse description Capricorn advancing to right, depicted as a hybrid sea-goat with forelegs raised, bearing a cornucopia on its back. The design alludes to the birth sign of Augustus and serves as an imperial emblem. The Greek legend ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ (Sebastos, the Greek equivalent of Augustus) appears in the field. The style is characteristic of provincial bronze coinage struck under Roman authority in Phrygia.
