| Reverse description | A six-pointed or eight-pointed star in the upper left field, accompanied by the names of the local magistrates arranged in four lines across the coin's field. The inscription ΜΗΤΡΩΝΑΞ ΖΩΠΥΡΟΥ identifies the annual magistrate Metronax, son of Zopyros, responsible for the coin's issue. The lettering is rendered in a somewhat irregular provincial Greek hand consistent with small civic bronze coinage of the Augustan period in Ionia. |
