| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the restrained Hellenistic portraiture style typical of Ionian civic bronzes. Before the portrait, a lituus (augural staff) occupies the left field. The ethnic abbreviation ΕΡΥ appears in the field to the left of the bust, identifying the issuing city of Erythrae. The portrait displays the characteristic idealized features of Augustan imperial iconography, with a neat laurel wreath and close-cropped hair. |

| Reverse description | A six-pointed or eight-pointed star in the upper left field, accompanied by the names of the local magistrates arranged in four lines across the coin's field. The inscription ΜΗΤΡΩΝΑΞ ΖΩΠΥΡΟΥ identifies the annual magistrate Metronax, son of Zopyros, responsible for the coin's issue. The lettering is rendered in a somewhat irregular provincial Greek hand consistent with small civic bronze coinage of the Augustan period in Ionia. |
