| Beschrijving keerzijde | A laurel branch rendered upright and centrally placed within the field, its stems and paired leaves depicted in low relief in a schematic provincial style. The Greek civic legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ flanks the branch to the left and ΚΩΚΟΣ to the right, identifying both the issuing city of Hierapolis and the magistrate or civic official responsible for the issue. The overall composition is characteristic of small Phrygian civic bronzes of the early Imperial period, with the branch serving as a symbol of Augustan peace and divine favour. |
