| Obverse description | Bare head of Gaius Caesar facing right, rendered in the provincial Hellenistic style typical of Phrygian civic coinage. The portrait is youthful and unadorned, consistent with representations of Gaius as heir designate during the Augustan period. The Greek legend ΓΑΙΟΣ appears in the field to the left of the portrait. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy patination, with details somewhat worn but the effigy remains identifiable. |
