| Obverse description | Crab depicted in the central field, facing, with claws extended to either side, rendered in low relief characteristic of provincial bronze coinage. The surrounding legend ΚΑΡΡΗΝΩΝ (of the Carrhenes) runs around the periphery in Greek characters, identifying the issuing civic authority.
