Year 20 of Hadrian's reign, which this coin marks with the regnal year ΛΚ, fell during a period of intense administrative focus on Egypt — Hadrian had visited the province personally in 130 AD, the same tour on which his favourite Antinous drowned in the Nile. The imperial cult machinery in Alexandria was running at full output through the mid-130s, producing small bronzes in bewildering denominational variety for local circulation.
At 1.58g, this falls toward the lighter end of documented specimens for the type, consistent with die wear and weight drift common in late Hadrianic Alexandrian production.
