正面描述 Laureate bust of Antoninus Pius draped with paludamentum, facing right. The portrait is rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style, with the emperor's characteristic aged features. The flan is small and irregular, with the portrait centered in the field. Due to the small module and heavy wear, surface detail is limited.

背面描述 An ibis depicted standing to the right, a sacred bird closely associated with the Egyptian god Thoth and a common type on Alexandrian coinage. The bird is rendered with its characteristic long curved beak and upright posture. The regnal date legend L ΚΔ (year 24) appears in the field. The design occupies most of the small, irregular flan.

附加信息

Year 24 of Antoninus Pius corresponds to 160–161 AD, the emperor's final regnal year — he died in March 161, making coins dated L ΚΔ among the last struck in his name at Alexandria before the mint retooled for Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus. The Alexandria mint operated on the Egyptian calendar, so output was tied to the Nile flood cycle and local administrative rhythms rather than the Roman fiscal year.

At 1.37g and 13mm, this is a notably small flan even within the debased Alexandrian bronze series, which had been shrinking incrementally since the reign of Hadrian.
