Reverse description Astarte, the principal deity of Tyre, depicted standing left atop the prow of a galley, her arms slightly extended in a stance of dominion over the sea. The design is flanked on either side by a Phoenician regnal or civic year designation and a municipal monogram, together forming the standard reverse type of Tyrian civic bronzes issued during the Roman provincial period. The inscription identifies the mint city and the local Tyrian calendar year.
