Obverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, helmeted and wearing the aegis across the chest. The helmet appears to be of Corinthian type, and the aegis is rendered with scale-like detailing visible despite the coin's worn surfaces. The figure is depicted in a provincial Greek style characteristic of Asia Minor civic coinage of the Severan period. No legend is present in the field.

Reverse description A lyre depicted in the centre of the field, rendered with a rounded resonating body and cross-bar with strings visible between the arms. The legend ΥΡΚΑΝΩΝ arcs around the upper portion of the design, identifying the issuing community as the Hyrcanians. The type is a characteristic civic reverse emblematic of Apollo's cult, commonly employed on provincial bronzes of Lydia. The overall style is consistent with small-module Severan-era civic issues of the Smyrnaean conventus.
