Obverse description Crescent symbol occupying the central field, rendered in low relief on a roughly flan. The design is characteristic of the small Alexandrian bronze issues struck under Augustus, with the crescent serving as the principal type in lieu of a portrait. The flan is irregular and the surfaces are heavily patinated with green and brown encrustation consistent with prolonged burial.
