正面描述 A humped bull (Nandi) depicted in profile within the field, rendered in the schematic Licchavi style typical of early medieval Nepal. The sacred bull faces right, its characteristic hump clearly articulated in low relief. The Brahmi legend VRSHA (meaning 'bull') appears in the field accompanying the device. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat flat, consistent with hammered copper coinage of this period.

附加信息

Shivadeva II ruled the Licchavi kingdom of Nepal during a period when the dynasty was increasingly entangled in Tibetan political pressure from the north and Gupta successor-state influence from the south. His reign in the late seventh century produced a relatively narrow window of autonomous coinage, and copper units of this type are among the few tangible administrative artifacts from that compressed period.
