| Reverse description | Irregular copper flan with a Devanagari legend occupying the central field, reading 'Shrimat Ratnadeva', referencing the ruling king Ratnadeva of the Kalachuri dynasty of Ratnapura. The inscription is rendered in a coarse, provincial Devanagari script typical of eleventh- and twelfth-century central Indian dynastic coinage. The relief is low and the surfaces are rough, consistent with hand-hammered production at a local mint. The flan edges are jagged and uneven, showing no attempt at regularisation prior to striking. |
