The Yaudheyas were a kshatriya republic of the Punjab whose coins consistently invoke Skanda-Karttikeya and Shiva as martial patrons — a deliberate theological positioning for a people whose identity was built almost entirely around military resistance. The Chitresvara epithet refers to a specific local form of Shiva worshipped in their territory, and its appearance on civic coinage reflects how tightly regional cult practice was bound to political authority in the Kushan-period northwest.
These copper units are notoriously poorly struck, the result of crude local dies and inconsistent flan preparation — not collector wear.
