To the left of the central composition, captured arms and shields are depicted. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the left and right fields flanking the central design. The overall composition follows the canonical Judaea Capta type commemorating the Roman suppression of the Jewish revolt of AD 66–73. |
