The effigy is encircled by a degenerate, nonsensical legend derived from the imperial prototype, with letter forms degraded and largely illegible. The workmanship reflects a Germanic tribal imitation of the standard late Roman imperial portrait type, retaining the general composition of the original but with noticeably crude execution. |

The reverse composition imitates the well-known SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE type of Julian II, featuring the sacred bull associated with his pagan religious program. A partially legible legend surrounds the design, with surviving letters reading [...] PVB ICIS, representing a corrupted rendering of the original Securitas Rei Publicae inscription. The overall execution is coarse, with irregular flan shape and shallow, uneven relief typical of unofficial Germanic tribal struck coinage. |
