Archebios is one of the more poorly documented Indo-Greek kings, his reign reconstructed almost entirely from coin finds rather than literary sources. The epithet pairing — Dikaios ("the Just") and Nikephoros ("Victory-bearing") — was a deliberate political statement, likely chosen to assert legitimacy at a moment when the Indo-Greek territories were fracturing under pressure from Scythian incursions from the northwest. Whether Archebios ruled a consolidated territory or a contested rump kingdom remains an open question among specialists.
Bopearachchi's die studies place his mint activity in the eastern regions, possibly around Taxila.
