Price 348 belongs to the civic bronze coinage struck during Alexander's reign for everyday transactions — the gold and silver issues funded the campaigns, but bronzes like this kept markets functioning from Macedon to the edges of the Persian empire. Production was distributed across multiple mints simultaneously as Alexander's administration expanded eastward, which complicates precise attribution of individual specimens to specific striking locations.
