The Indo-Parthian satrapal coinage of Seistan — ancient Sakastan — reflects the fragmented political reality of eastern Iran and the borderlands after Parthian expansion disrupted Saka tribal authority. Cheiroukes and Marsakes are among the least-documented figures in this sequence; their precise relationship to the main Indo-Parthian dynastic line remains contested, and Senior's attribution itself relies heavily on die linkage rather than any textual confirmation. The region changed hands repeatedly between Saka chiefs, Parthian nominees, and semi-independent warlords during this period.
