| Obverse description | Standing figure of the goddess Lakshmi depicted facing, holding a lotus flower in her raised right hand, rendered in the schematic style characteristic of early Indian janapada coinage. The central deity is enclosed within a Brahmi legend that encircles the field, reading the tribal or republican designation of the issuing authority. The die work is bold but irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period. |
