Obverse description Laureate head of Herakles facing right, rendered in bold relief within a dotted border. The hero is depicted wearing the Nemean lion's skin knotted at the throat, its paws visible over the truncation of the bust. The portrait displays the characteristic curly hair and strong features associated with Heraklean iconography in the Hellenistic civic coinage tradition of Lydia.
