Reverse description A warrior or deity, identified in numismatic literature as a rider, depicted galloping to the right on horseback, brandishing a spear or lance overhead in a dynamic martial pose. The horse is rendered in a lively, energetic style characteristic of Oscan-Campanian coinage of the late 3rd century BC. Below the horse, a ground line is visible, beneath which appears a legend in the Oscan script. The composition fills the flan with assured if provincially-styled engraving.
