Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing wavy hair and a full, curling beard. The laureate wreath is depicted with characteristic boldness, the locks of hair falling in undulating waves behind the neck. The strong, mature facial features are deeply struck, conveying divine majesty. The broad, bearded visage fills much of the flan, with the field otherwise plain and unadorned.
