正面描述 Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a crested Attic helmet with cheekpieces and a flowing plume extending to the right. The portrait is rendered in moderate relief with careful attention to facial detail, including a defined eye and strong profile characteristic of Campanian bronze coinage of the late 3rd century BC. The field is plain, and the design is contained within a beaded border running along the upper periphery of the flan.

附加信息

Teanum Sidicinum sat at a crossroads that made it politically inconvenient throughout the third century BC — a Samnite-influenced city that Rome absorbed into its alliance system following the Samnite Wars, yet one that retained enough local autonomy to strike its own bronze coinage. This issue falls squarely within the period when Rome was consolidating Campania ahead of the First Punic War, and the municipal bronzes of allied cities served the local economy Rome had no interest in supplying directly.

Teanum's coinage is sparsely documented compared to wealthier Campanian mints, which accounts for the spread of references needed to trace even a handful of die studies.
