Obverse description Bare head of Mithras facing right, wearing a distinctive peaked Phrygian-style cap, rendered in fine archaic Greek style. The portrait is boldly executed with strong facial features, the cap rising to a forward-curving point above the brow. The field is plain and unlettered, with the effigy occupying the majority of the flan.

Reverse description A Herculean club depicted horizontally in the center of the field, shown in three-quarter perspective with knotted texture along its shaft. The ethnic legend KIANΩN is inscribed above the club in Greek characters, identifying the issuing city of Cius. The composition is sparse but well-centered, consistent with the civic bronze coinage of Bithynian city-states of the late 4th century BC.
