| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large five-pointed star (pentagram) fills the reverse field, with a central pellet at the intersection of the lines. The letters of the civic ethnic ΠΙΣΟΣ are distributed in the angles between the points of the star, one letter per compartment, serving as the city ethnic of Pitane. The design is boldly struck and constitutes the principal civic badge of the mint, the pentagram being a well-known symbol of Pitane in Mysia. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Pitane was one of the twelve cities of the Aeolian League, situated on a small peninsula on the Mysian coast — a geography that shaped its modest commercial reach and, by extension, the small fractional bronzes it produced for local exchange. Issues attributed to this mint are rare enough that the BMC cataloguing remains foundational; little has been added in the way of die studies since.
