Obverse description Bare head of a youthful male deity, most likely Apollo, facing left, rendered in the archaic Cretan style with wavy hair falling behind the neck. The portrait occupies the central field of the flan, with softly modeled facial features typical of late Hellenistic provincial coinage from Crete. The surfaces show a patina of dark olive-brown tone with areas of green encrustation consistent with ancient burial. No legend is present on the obverse.

Reverse description Central motif of a palm tree (Phoenix) shown frontally with a slender trunk and spreading fronds, flanked on either side by a shield and a Macedonian-style helmet or military trophy, symbols of civic and martial identity associated with Hierapytna. The composition is tightly arranged within the round flan, with elements rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered Cretan bronzes of the Hellenistic period. A partial legend in ancient Greek characters appears in the lower field, likely an abbreviation of the city ethnic IΕΡΑΠΥΤΝΙΩΝ. The reverse displays typical die wear and flan irregularity consistent with third-century BC municipal issues.
