| Beschrijving voorzijde | The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Persian inscription executed in bold nastaliq calligraphy, declaring the royal mint authority of Shahrokh Afshar. The legend reads that the coin was struck by the command of God, identifying the issuer as Shahrokh, servant of the threshold of Reza (the eighth Imam), with the mint name Shiraz appearing in the lower portion of the field. The date of issue is placed at the bottom of the inscription. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief, characteristic of Afsharid hammered coinage, filling virtually the entire coin surface with minimal plain field visible. |
