Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script, arranged within a lobed cartouche. The inscription records the accession date (jalus) of Nader Shah, reading 'al-khayr fima waqa'a' (goodness in what has come to pass), followed by the auspicious enthronement formula and the regnal date 1148 AH. The cartouche is set against a flat field, surrounded by a broad border of impressed granular or pellet decoration encircling the entire coin.
