| 背面描述 | The reverse field is entirely occupied by a two-hemistich Persian poetic legend in bold nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines: 'He struck a coin like the disc of the sun rising from the east of Iran / Shah Mahmud, world-conqueror, of noble sayyid lineage.' The mint name 'Zarb Isfahan' (struck at Isfahan) appears in the lower register, with the AH date 1135 beneath. The design fills the flan to its edges in the characteristically dense calligraphic style associated with Hotak dynasty coinage struck at the Isfahan mint during Mahmud's brief reign. |
