正面描述 Central field dominated by bold Arabic calligraphy executed in the nasta'liq style, bearing the Shahada legend across two lines: 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' The AH date 1135 appears below the main inscription. The legend is surrounded by a decorative dotted border running along the lower periphery of the flan, characteristic of Safavid-derived Iranian hammered coinage. A countermark is applied to the central field, partially obscuring the underlying design. The overall strike is typical of the irregular, hand-hammered fabric common to early 18th-century Iranian mint production.

背面描述 The reverse field is entirely occupied by a two-hemistich Persian poetic legend in bold nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines: 'He struck a coin like the disc of the sun rising from the east of Iran / Shah Mahmud, world-conqueror, of noble sayyid lineage.' The mint name 'Zarb Isfahan' (struck at Isfahan) appears in the lower register, with the AH date 1135 beneath. The design fills the flan to its edges in the characteristically dense calligraphic style associated with Hotak dynasty coinage struck at the Isfahan mint during Mahmud's brief reign.
