Obverse description Central field dominated by bold Arabic calligraphy executed in the nasta'liq style, bearing the Shahada legend across two lines: 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' The AH date 1135 appears below the main inscription. The legend is surrounded by a decorative dotted border running along the lower periphery of the flan, characteristic of Safavid-derived Iranian hammered coinage. A countermark is applied to the central field, partially obscuring the underlying design. The overall strike is typical of the irregular, hand-hammered fabric common to early 18th-century Iranian mint production.
