Obverse description The obverse displays a multi-line Persian poetic legend in flowing Nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal registers across the field. The inscription, a characteristic couplet of the Zand coinage, reads that the sun and moon have become gold and silver throughout the world by virtue of the coins of the rightful Imam, the Master of Time (Sahib al-Zaman). The date 1177 AH appears within the legend. The entire design is contained within a beaded border typical of Zand-period hammered silver coinage.

Obverse lettering شد آفتاب و ماه زر و سیم در جهان از سکه امام بحق صاحب الزمان ۱۱۷۷
(Translation: The sun and moon have become gold and silver throughout the world, by the coins of the Imam, indeed, the Master of Time.)
Reverse description The reverse bears a bold Nasta'liq script legend in two principal lines across the field, invoking the name of Karim Khan Zand with the supplication 'Ya Karim' (O Generous One) in the upper register, and the mint name 'Zarb Kashan' (struck at Kashan) in the lower register. The calligraphy is characteristic of Zand hammered coinage, with sweeping strokes filling the flan. A beaded border encircles the design, consistent with the obverse, reflecting the standard type C format of Karim Khan's silver issues.
