Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse carries a detailed landscape vignette within a decorative border of repeating floral and geometric motifs. Three named Alpine peaks — Sattelhorn, Gr. Ochsenhorn, and Hörndl — are rendered in fine line engraving across the upper field. In the lower portion, the denomination numeral '99' appears twice in large outlined figures flanking the town's coat of arms, which shows a standing figure above an anchor on a striped shield. The inscription 'Markt Lofer Land Salzburg' runs along the bottom, with the numeral '99' repeated at each corner.

Opmerkingen

Lofer is a small market town in Salzburg province, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities, it issued its own emergency currency — Notgeld — during and after the First World War when small-denomination coinage effectively vanished from circulation. The 99 Heller denomination is one of the odder face values produced during this period, a deliberate choice by many issuers to avoid the round numbers that might tempt collectors and keep the notes in actual use.

Wagner of Innsbruck handled a significant volume of Tyrolean and Salzburg regional Notgeld, and the Lofer issue falls squarely within that provincial printing network.
