| 表面の説明 | The obverse displays the laureate and draped bust of a Spanish monarch facing right, struck on an underlying Spanish colonial 8 Reales host coin bearing the peripheral legend CAROLUS IIII DEI GRATIA and the date 1807 in the lower field. Superimposed at center is the Brazilian countermark of Prince Regent João: an oval cartouche surmounted by a royal crown, enclosing the denomination 960 above the mint initial C (for Cuiabá), flanked by decorative floral sprays. The countermark was applied by the Brazilian monetary authorities to validate and restamp the host coin for circulation at 960 Réis. |

The entire composition reflects the characteristic pillar-and-arms style of late eighteenth-century Spanish American coinage, overstruck by the Brazilian countermarking authority. |
