| Descrizione del dritto | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, her hair elaborately dressed and veiled, wearing an imperial mantle adorned with ermine and jewelled brooch. The encircling Latin legend reads M. THRESA. D. G. / R. IMP. HU. BO. REG., with mint initials S.F. appearing below the truncation. Superimposed upon the empress's chest is the Portuguese colonial countermark: a circular incuse punch bearing the raised letters PM, applied by Mozambique authorities between 1889 and 1895 to validate the coin for local circulation at the value of 920 réis. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed, each head surmounted by an archducal crown, with a further imperial crown above the junction of the two necks. The eagle's breast bears a quartered shield of arms of the Habsburg domains. The circumscribed Latin legend reads ARCHID·AVST·DUX· / BVRG·CO·TYR· with the date 1780 appearing to the left, all executed in the crisp neoclassical style characteristic of the restrike Maria Theresa Thalers produced continuously from 1780 onward. |
