| Obverse description | The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, showing three lions atop an abacus bearing a Dharma Chakra. Below the emblem, the national motto सत्यमेव जयते (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth alone triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script.
