Austrian Notgeld, issued by the village commune of Oberwolfern during the small-change famine that gripped the former Habsburg territories after 1918. With coin metal diverted and central authority fractured, thousands of municipalities printed their own emergency fractions — Heller denominations like this one were among the most ephemeral, often redeemed within months and immediately destroyed.

The 90 Heller value is an oddity even within Notgeld issues, which tend toward rounder figures. Signed by Leopold Dorninger, almost certainly the Bürgermeister or a designated commune official at the time of issue.
