| Obverse description | Central field bearing the municipal arms of Haltern within an ornamented shield, surrounded by a decorative scrollwork border. The date 1624 appears prominently at the top of the coin, arcing above the shield. A circular legend reading STADT HALTERN runs around the periphery, with lettering interrupted by ornamental devices. The die-work is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German civic emergency coinage. |

| Reverse description | The Roman numeral VIIII, denoting the denomination of nine Pfennig, is displayed in large, bold characters within a rectangular cartouche. The cartouche is framed by elaborate foliate and scrollwork ornaments above and below, creating a decorative architectural surround typical of Westphalian municipal coinage of the Kipper und Wipper period. The field within the rectangle is plain, allowing the numeral to dominate the design. |
