| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse displays the countermark applied to the flat, straight edge of the half-circle flan, consisting of the incuse rectangular cartouche bearing the legend TORTOLA in bold capital Latin letters. The piece is cut from a Spanish colonial silver coin, with the dotted border of the original host coin visible along the curved upper periphery. The field above the countermark retains traces of the original host coin's design, now largely effaced. The countermark was applied by colonial authorities to validate and circulate the cut piece as local currency. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents the host coin's original design, heavily worn and largely indistinct as a result of circulation and the cutting process. Fragmentary elements of the original Spanish colonial milled coinage legend are discernible along the curved rim in Latin script, though specific devices and inscriptions are no longer legible. The flat, straight edge of the half-circle flan is smooth and unadorned, consistent with the method of cutting employed. The silver surface exhibits natural oxidation and porosity consistent with the age and circulation history of the piece. |
